The next section in our class is to learn how to animate stuff. Thus a simply thing to do was to animate a ball roll, it was very interesting to see how the process of this went since it's the same exact thing as key framing in a video editing program. Anyways, once we were done I rendered it out and slapped obnoxious Kpop on it to make anyone whose reading this crazy.
I'm looking forward to what other stuff we learn how to animate in 3ds Max.
As a side thing, I was looking into this program called MikuMikuDance. Basically, this takes already made models, and let's you animate them accordingly. It is a very amateur program, so anyone can use it. I wanted to give it a try so I can get use to the method of animating stuff. However, it is nothing like actually animation for stuff like that would obviously be more complex (which is why I said it was an amateur program) anything I release of it, I will credit the modeler and/or motion data I put in.

SeeU Fanart 1
30 minutes. Go!
This is SeeU from Vocaloid3! I am really liking the demo release SeeU had! Really looking forward to future song releases. Also, I will be doing another fanart of SeeU soon!
Okay, I know I have been doing a lot of drawings lately. I am working on another project, so hopefully I will post that later. Doku sketches still need to be done, but I want to take my time with that project.

Sketch Sword
It's been a while since I posted a sketch book thing, so I decided to whip up some sketches real fast. I thought it would help me a lot to try different sketches based off the same basic head shape! Just to see how creative I could be and how many different faces/hair I could come up with.
Personally, I feel this is a really good practice/warm up for drawing stuff. I know I tend to go for the same facial expression and eyes, so I hope this exercise every now and then will make me want to be even more creative with my sketches. Maybe, next time I'll do the same thing or try to do this same method with drawing clothes.
I designed a sword for my animation class. It isn't as fancy as I wanted it to be, but I do like what I came up with. The instructions were to make a basic sword and then get creative with how you want the blade and holder part to look like. My teacher said that pretty soon we will texture and map our sword designs. It sounds like a lot more work than the box... Anyways, I hope I am getting better at 3ds Max. Some stuff still really confuses me.. like when it glitches and you just need to start over because the orthographic mode is a jerk! (sorry, random rage)

DinoStar - Speedpaint
It's been a few days since I posted on here.. I wanted to give myself a little bit of a break from all the posting I was doing, really needed some time to myself and to do homework/study. Anyways, this blog isn't about my personal life so let's get on with this productive stuff!
I've been really itching to draw more, but didn't really have time. However, I managed to do a sketch and outlined it. I decided this may be a good time to start doing my own speed paints. I've always wanted to do my own! I know I am not as good as a lot of other people, who do speed paints, but I really wanted to try just doing it all in one sitting and recording it! Recording it was kind of a hassle because I had to figure out what settings were best. My computer semi-chocked at some point because the file size of the loss-less files were getting so big! (however that is more video editing stufff)I'll just go ahead and post my speed paint now! Enjoy! =]
As you can see in the video, I mainly used Sai for everything! However, towards the end my tablet was acting a little bit weird (driver probably need to be updated), so I switched over to photoshop and did the stars by hand.
Here's the finished product:
Overall, I did not really like the outlining I did, mainly because the hands look really weird! However, I do like how I colored it.

Box Texturing
My first texture attempt! My teacher wanted us to learn the basics of texture. We started off with the simplest object to texture; a box. We had to first select the wire frame of each side then export it to be decorated in photoshop. This was very interesting for me because photoshop has been my buddy since I was 12 and to think that it is being used for modeling textures in movies and video games is awesome! (Sorry am I being nerdy?) Anyways, my teacher wanted us to basically texture with anything because he just wanted us to learn how the process goes. The lazy person I was, I just grabbed a crate texture-picture from Google and slapped it on top the wireframe in photoshop. Then I added a bunch of hearts and random text just to see how well it would work on all the sides.. and that's how I came to this picture here..
I am box
Anyways, this wasn't too productive I feel because it was mainly small steps and using a texture I didn't really create myself. I just felt like sharing because I thought it was cool. However, next time I texture something I will definitely try to make my own onto the wire-frame!

Doku Post 1
"Doku" is title for my new project. The word means "thief" in my language (urdu). The concept of the entire project came to me when I was browsing for typography ideas. It suddenly came to me that I could possibly draw stuff and incorporate that with the typography! I have been browsing a lot of different type of angles and such where I can tackle this, there are seriously an endless amount of possibilities when it comes to typography. I am aiming for a video about 40 seconds-60 seconds, not too long.
Anyways, it came down to looking back on an old animation project I did, where I animated a hand turning over. I want to use this same style/concept to do in Doku.
As my first step in this project, I took my old hand animation and just messed with it just to see how it would look in the setting I wish to put it in.
As you can see I just started to mess around at that point. My actual project will be done in After Effects, thus will obviously look a lot better than this. I'm really excited to make the next step in this project.

Setting up the Table
More modeling stuff
In my last 3ds Max post, I was making a chair and cup! The cup turned out to not really be the type of style my teacher wanted. (well I free styled it without even knowing how to make a cup so I think I did pretty good in that aspect.. yes?) He ended up getting around to show the class how to do the cup properly and how to do several other things; making plates, platters, and bowls! It was pretty amazing because we could make all these different objects from the same object; the cup could be morphed and transformed into bowls and platters. Strange huh?
A minor setback I had was the fact that I had to model on a laptop, I usually am perfectly skilled with touch pads. (not trying to sound arrogant, but I've been using a touch pad for 7 years) However, in 3Ds Max a lot of the navigated functions to view the object in 3D space really need a stable mouse to do it properly! Also, the fact that the move tool in the program is the middle mouse bottom..lucky me that touch pads don't have that. I got most of my work done it just took extra long. (well I didn't get to glue the handle to a cup on because I couldn't get the right viewing angle! dumb touch-pad!) to fix this problem I decided to order a decent mouse from online.
Anyways, I was really excited to learn a few new morphing tools and such. I feel like progression is going a bit slow, but I like it that way so I can fully understand and get comfortable around all the tools. My intimidated-ness of 3Ds Max on a 1 to 10 scale has gone from a 7 to a 5 now.. progress? Maybe...
(Pictures will be edited in here soon, just too lazy to open up 3Ds Max.. the lag it causes is to much for me)

Duchess
I ended up making a new "AMV" for this week, this was the bigger project I was talking about earlier, since it takes a bit of time to edit a full video. (that is why there was a bit of gap between now and this post) I posted a picture above to show how a timeline of an amv typically would look like.
The orange marks are markers that I made, which help me know where certain parts in the song are (in this case I put markers down for the song). I also had to edit the song a bit to make it shorter and take out a section I didn't like. This video here doesn't have much of the FX I was speaking about in my a-m-v post, thus it won't have as much layers as my other projects (sometimes can go 20+ in layers). However, it has a more clean cut and slow style to it.Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the way I edited it, since I wasn't aiming for anything higher than a simple cute video.
Maybe next time I'll do a more complex video so I can show the process of doing FX in amvs etc.
I found the source of the video to be so adorable so I really wanted to do a cute/emotional edit using it. The idea of the video was to character profile the main girl and convey how she feels about the guy. Anyways, it all is pretty obvious so I'll just let you watch it yourself.

Hope you liked it!

A Chair and Cup
I finally was assigned homework for my 3D Animation class. I really like this class so far, feels like I'm learning a lot, even though I know these are baby steps of baby steps of the entire 3D animation process. However, I am still really excited to learn more and be slightly more confident when I open up the program. I think my teacher was going for a dinner table setting type of style. The first assignment was to make a chair, however at the time I was so overwhelmed by it all I didn't really end up finishing my chair. After that we made tables, as seen in my previous post. During our last class he announced that next week we should have the table, chair, and a cup design done for next week
I didn't finish up the chair during class thus I had to do so at home. Turns out 3Ds max chokes on my computer. Thankfully, my mom let me use her computer to do my homework. This is a unique type of chair called a Viking Chair. The chair took me a while because I am still very new to this program, but the tutorial my teacher made helped me a lot.
The next assignment was to make the cup. There was one problem though, my teacher seemed to not have posted the tutorial for the cup yet. I was thinking about just letting it go, but then I decided to wing it. I tried looking up tutorials online, but they all used this line drawing method that I haven't even heard of yet.. (I'm a nub -sadface) Anyways, the cup didn't come out awesome, but it's something.. right?
I am really glad about the progress I'm making, however one thing I must say is even though these snapshots look cool, it's all in the program; stuff like this is easily done in 3ds max, however since I'm so new it takes me 40 minutes... just wanted to say that because I did not want to seem like I'm over hyping
myself in any way.
Also, in my last post I said I was working on a project, this has nothing to do with it. The project will hopefully be done later this week.

Female Wander?
I just posted this to show I have been doing productive stuff lately, but I have been really busy with school stuff. This was a quick drawing, was done in under an hour like the last one. As you can see I got lazy with the hands. It's kind of weird because before I did this I was looking up random videos of Shadow of the Colossus. (It's a video game that I like a lot.) After I did the sketch and coloring, I realized I subconsciously drew something that looks like the main character, Wander. However, once again just like the Marth incident, this is not fan art, but strangely resembles the character o_O Anyways, it may be a few days before I post again because I have some other stuff to work on. I'll post those when they are done.

Cherry Hands
This is just a quick post to show a drawing I did~ I really wanted to go for a brush-ish style rather than being neat and clean. I really liked the result~ the left hand came out a lot better than I initially thought it would so I only had to draw it once! The eyes are a bit off, but I'll be sure to get that right from the start next time (since with this style s it's kind of hard keeping everything on different layers thus fixing the eye would have caused too much trouble for me) I had a lot of trouble with the right hand.. It still looks pretty weird... Overall, I was pretty new to this style and I definitely want to try it again. I was really happy that I did this in under an hour. (so much better than the 4-5 hour one last time)
